Does the judgment apply to my vehicle brand/model?

In the judgment, the Court has made a finding regarding the presence of cheat devices in 20 sample vehicles manufactured by Ford, Mercedes, Renault, Nissan and Peugeot/Citroen (“the Lead Defendants”). We are considering the implications of the judgment and how it applies to other vehicles manufactured by the Lead Defendants.

Currently the Court cases in respect of vehicles manufactured by Vauxhall, Volvo, Jaguar Land Rover, VW, Audi, Porsche, SEAT, Škoda and BMW have been paused (the legal term is “stayed”) by the Court pending the judgment. The judgment does not directly affect claims against those other manufacturers, although the Claimants allege that those vehicles also contain similar defeat devices to those installed by the Lead Defendants.

Over the coming weeks and months, we will consider further the implications for the claims of all our clients.
