How much compensation will I receive?
The judgment does not decide that compensation must be paid. This is still subject to further hearings (including a trial in October 2026). We will also seek to resolve the case and obtain compensation through settlement discussions. We cannot quote reliable figures until the Court (or any settlement framework) confirms the method for valuing claims.
We should note that the judgment’s finding for liability is not indicative in and of itself of what
compensation you will receive. The valuation of the claim is dependent on the outcome of
further hearings and any settlement discussions, which are separate from the Court process.
Liability does not equate to valuation of the claims or settlement.
Compensation in group claims can depend on the legal measure of loss adopted (and whether the Court sets a uniform approach or requires individual assessment). As soon as the method is clear, we will publish: (1) the heads of loss being claimed, (2) what evidence is needed, (3) examples for typical ownership/lease scenarios, and (4) a clear explanation of what may reduce or increase any award (for example, vehicle type, dates, or specific eligibility criteria).
